A view from the top of the Georgia Mountains

Just when I thought the weatherman was completely off, I wake up to about 3 inches of snow blanketing my view. Snow Daze Sure its pretty, it's getting pretty old already.  I am ready for spring and Sunday should be 70 degrees and sunny, hard to imagine looking out the window today.  And that's where people should be, at home, but some just have to brave the roads and the radio sounds like a broken record with one 10-50 (accident) after another.  Thank your local Police and Fire Department and stay home to enjoy the view.  Tomorrow it will be out of here.  Be safe and stay warm.

I've heard a lot of reasons why we should have a colder winter this year.  These really are not tales from wives, but better Mazedescribed as bs from old men.  Some of the logic behind these theories may be a little thin and others have some merit. 

These are the top three reasons why it should be a colder winter this year.  First the El Nino weather system.  It's scientific data, okay.  Second, hornets are making their nests lower to the ground. This was told to me by a farmer who has observed that hornets will nest lower during years with heavy snow fall or ice because the branches break off higher up.  And, this final reason why we'll have a colder winter is supported by two seasoned farmers noting that the ears of corn have thicker husks this year.
